About our founder

Tim’s story
Founder of Photography Academy

Tim Shields bought his first camera at the age of 13 with money he earned from his part-time job delivering pharmacy prescriptions on his bike, and he has been a photographer ever since. Tim is the founder of PhotographyAcademy.com, the author of The Photo Cookbook, and the creator of the Photography Transformation Four-Step System.  He is is the recipient of the International Nature Photographer of the Year Award from Master Photographer’s International, and he holds the designation of Master Photographer in Fine Art (MPI).  Tim’s photography products and courses have been downloaded by over 293,130 photographers from around the world.
